The Fishermen!

Thanks so much for all the emails, calls and visits...your support has been amazing and really helps us get through these long days. At least now the countdown to surgery is on and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel (or at least the entrance to the tunnel anyway). Our friend Joan suggested that a blog might be a great way to communicate with everyone so here goes! We'll give it a whirl and I'll try to keep you all updated at the same time - amazing technology!

This week was a great one as far as cancer weeks go...we finally got some GOOD NEWS!! Dallas's PET scan results are back and his cancer is just on the left side of his neck. We were crying happy tears when we got the news. Now the surgery is less than two weeks away and Dallas can focus on that and not worry that the cancer is travelling around other parts of his body. We're also confident in Dallas's surgeon. We've checked him out and he's the best in his field - more good news.

Dallas and Jordan had a GREAT day today. This morning they went fishing and caught a 26 lb. salmon! It was so much fun to see them both proudly grinning ear to ear that I had to share the moment with all of you.

That's definitely a fake fish...just like the fake eight foot Marlin that John caught in Mexico in February...nice try. Didn't fool me...
Nice to see the smiles...L. Anne

Believe it or not! There was actually an official weigh in at the fishing club's scale so there are witnesses...

Looks awesome guys - I guess this means that the one that got away probably wouldn't have fit in the boat anyway!

PS Joan, this blog idea is great.

Fabulous photo! Wonderful fishing story and great idea re the blog - goin' to a new level Patty! And how did your kitchen look after this guy was cleaned?!!

Still feeling joyous after the good news from the PET scan. Take care.

Well...the kitchen looked fine! Only because we now have all this stuff down to science. Dallas sets up a table outside which is just for fish cleaning - no more sterilizing the countertops - thank you very much! When he's finished cleaning he's allowed to bring it inside and I rev up the plastic sealing machine (I ran out and bought it after he caught his first halibut!). Presto - we're done!

Thanks for all the comments you guys...reading them all helps to pass the time and keeps our minds off the "C" word. Take care...

Wow, what a great picture!! If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it!
I am so happy about the PET scan results, finally some good news.
What happened on Tuesday night when you went back to see that doctor?
This blog is an awsome idea.
Lots of Love

Hi Nikki...the doctor said there was nothing else to worry about on Tuesday (probably just stress related) - just to keep a watchful eye on new symptoms and let him know if anything else happened. Thanks for caring as usual Nikki Sunshine! xxoo

Big "D "bought the fish and keeps it in the freezer for photo ops.

Missed you @ first round of our Men's Club Champ., I golfed with Chopper who can't hit his driver 200 yds. Deadly short game though, he still shot 71.... LM

Great news on the PET scan! We are all relieved and thinking nothing but positive things for you.

Nice fish Big D. I hope you can duplicate the feat next time we go out together.

As for golf, I played with Luigi and Choppper too and although LM is hitting his driver great, his new nickname is "threeputt".

Little D.

I wish I was playing in the tourney with the Radium gang, Little D I didn't see your score and Luigi you know I can't afford to buy a fish that large. Dallas

Hi Guys, Sorry we haven't touched base for a few days-thought we would wait and get Brian's blood resluts -which were PERFECTLY NORMAL!!!-before we checked in. Can't wait to eat that fish! Just six more sleeps and we're home free-hang in there guys-we love you lots! We are going to be there from Aug20-25th with Colin and Lisa and Oliver. I'll get to check out that incision myself xxoo Anne and Brian

Hi Again, How unusual that I referred to Brian's re-sluts instead of results-what do you think of that? Anne

Anne and Brian - GREAT NEWS! We were really worried. We'll look forward to seeing you in August.
